FACEHUGGER

 

Designed by H.R. Geiger.  This incarnation of the one phase of the Aliens lifecycle is truly revolting to behold.  The tail wraps itself around the victims throat, choking the victim into unconsciousness.  At this point a proboscis is sent down the victim's throat.  The Facehugger acts as life support system for the victim and now host.  At some point, the Facehugger implants some kind of a parasite which gestates within the host.  The facehugger then dies and fall away inert from the victim, leaving them none the worse for wear.  That is, until the chestburster rips its way out from inside them.  Happy Happy Joy Joy.

 

 

 

 

This piece is really nasty looking, seriously.  I am a bit ticked off at the pictures because the flash has washed out a lot of the detail and made things look uniform looking.  That is not the case.  I used 8 different shades and colors and did 4 different layers to get the colors and textures the way I wanted them.  Not exactly screen accurate.  The bottom picture is a thumbnail to a higher resolution picture so you can better see the detail.  Flash still washed things out though.
