NEWS ARCHIVE SEPT 2001

(26 SEP 01)

Okay!  Website is back up!  Whahoo!  Lots of updates.

First!  Sith Apocalypse now has a  host to help out with the bandwidth burden.  Anonymous Jedi of Star Wars Land Fan Films has decided to host the film!  You can go to the film's page to view it here.   And be sure to check out his site and the forums there too!

Also!  And this is really cool news.  Check this out!

BAM!

W00T!!  Sith Apocalypse featured on TFN SELECT!!

(19 SEP 01)

Due to the overwhelming response to the film, my webserver has been heavily taxed.  Alternate hosting locations for the film are being sought in addition to this one.   I apologize for anyone who has had trouble viewing or downloading the film but the response exceeded my wildest expectations.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Finally!  Submitted for your approval.  "Sith Apocalypse"!

(12 SEP 01)

I'm going to finish updating some stuff on the website and then we'll premiere the movie on Saturday, 15 September.  And then I'll see where we go from there.

So, if you're lurking around the site, take a gander at the Story Background since it adds a lot to the film to know who the players are.  The main part of the site devoted to the film is here.

In the meantime...I'll keep trying different compressions and codecs and see what the best results are.

The Biggest Milestone Yet!!  "Sith: Apocalypse" is complete!!!  Weighing in at 23 minutes 17 seconds....I still have some minor work to do on various compression versions before the film goes public, so I can bring the best quality for size file to the viewers.   Cast and crew will get a sneak preview as usual, and we plan to have a premiere party here in Florida in about 2 weeks.

In other news, the official Shannon Baksa website (www.shannon-baksa.com) posted pics of her and yours truly at GENCON in her Fan Pics section, again proving what a class act she is.  Just when I thought she couldn't be any cooler, she goes and proves me wrong!  It really made my day.

In other other news, Penny painted up an original "Sith: Apocalypse" Oil Painting!!!  This was done up to accompany the film at the Force 3.75 Film Festival in Australia.  They will be screening "Sith: Apocalypse" on October 13th.  You can view the full-size painting here.  It is surrealistic and I think it makes a fantastic movie poster.

Biggest Update Yet!  All the Rotoscoping work for Sith:Apocalypse is complete!!!  I am working on some soundtrack issues, tweaking the sound, doing a couple more ADR takes on some pieces of dialogue that are hard to hear, working on some final Aftereffects stuff, and working on the closing credits!  Not long now!

I've updated the tutorials page and have completed my two lightsaber construction tutorials.  No progress on the hardware Gaffi stick tutorial because I just recast the head and have not made any further progress on it.

I am making monumental strides on the film.  Had a little bit of trouble with the server but everything is cleared up now.  I will have larger update later this weekend.

I was lucky enough to get interviewed by the folks working on Star Wars: Second Strike.  You can check out the interview here.  I am really looking forward to this project.

Well....must get back to FX work.  That's all for now.

IMPORTANT!! -- Some issues have arisen between IE6.0 and Quicktime Web plugins.  There is a fix in the form of an Active X control.  When you access www.quicktime.com , if you do not already have the Active X control, it will prompt you to load it.
