Huge
MILESTONE reached! All the FX and everything are complete except for the
last 3 minutes of the movie! (these require some heavy FX and sound
work...but I am working on it)! But it is cause for celebration.
I've
added a section to the main page called Past
Projects. I intend to put up some of our older video projects
that we did in the past. I have added some samples of the old Ataritoon
"break movies" we used to make. I guess you could say they were
my first "fan films". I am also posting our old film
"Terminaper: The Special Edition". I don't know if this even
qualifies as a fan film or not...but check it out....it is funny in a sick and
twisted kind of way. I also added the old "Story Base Teaser
Trailer", a what-if piece advertising a fan fiction website I used to run,
that will be migrated over to this site after I'm done with "Sith
Apocalypse".
For those of you young 'uns who grew up using
the World Wide Web. Be sure to check out the BBS simulator....a short
break movie that simulates what it was like to log into an Atari BBS using a 300
baud modem! If you think dial-up is bad now....check out this movie...and
see what things used to be like back in the day.

Quick update because it is 4:40 AM here. I have
only 3 minutes of solid rotoscoping left. A Sept. 15th completion date for
the film is now looking pretty good. I don't know if the movie will be ready to
release at that time since I still have to mess around with compression and such
for the web, and give TheForce.Net a change at hosting it, if they want to. (Not
holding my breath.) In any case, just wanted to pass on that this is not
in limbo and that project is ongoing.
Point 2. Warner Bros.
Home Video intends on release a "pan-and-scan" version of the old
Bakshi version of the Lord of the Rings movie on DVD. This is always
annoying especially when on DVD. I think it is safe to assume that if
someone is purchasing the DVD of a film they care a little bit about that movie,
and releasing a substandard product is just slapping them in the face. I
know that I won't buy the pan-and-scan DVD, if I want to watch a chopped up
version....I have my old worn out VHS tape. No doubt they'll release a
widescreen special edition with a crillion extras right after the Fellowship of
the Rings hits theaters.....like Stargate did (I'm still pissed off about
that.) Anyway, hop on over to TheOneRing.net
and sign the petition
to try and get it released on widescreen. (Although it doesn't look good,
if the September release date is accurate, those DVDs are probably already being
burned....but it can't hurt right?)
Lastly, TO
THE KING PIN: THE ADMIRAL WILL BE IN
PHOENIX ON SEPTEMBER 4th. Send e-mail to him if you would like to meet. Or
contact me via e-mail, ICQ or IM.
That's all for now....I
have to get some sleep some year.

Minor updates to the site, working on some tutorials
and I'll be casting parts of a new Gaffi stick today. Of course, more
rotoscoping....aargh! May put up ASF files of some of our earliest
"fan films" (some Ataritoon break movies!) we'll see if I can get to
that.

Well got some work done recording some parts for JIVS
in the Star
Wars Second Strike Audio Drama I'll
finish the rest tomorrow. Also got started on two of the tutorials that I
wanted to feature. Two on how to make combat sabers for fan films and one
on how to make a hardware Gaffi stick.
More Rotoscoping on the
film continues.
One side note. Just discovered
and became a member of the Tie Corps. A club for players of the LucasArts
X-Wing and Tie Fighter based games (X-Wing, Tie-Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter,
and X-Wing Alliance). They have over 1600 members and it is a very active
and exciting community with lots of fan fiction too! So if you have an old
copy of these games moldering on a shelf, blow of the dust and check out the Emperor's
Hammer Tie Corps. It is a blast!

Not much new
here. Rotoscoping continues. I'm about halfway there. Also,
making a lot of progress on my homemade gaffi stick, should have a tutorial up
within a week or so...at least partially.

Let me
tell you about GENCON.....no there is too much, I will sum up. One
word...Awesome! Check out the pics here (Errata
section). I spent too much money as usual. But the 2nd version
of the Rough Cut was screened by members of the cast and family members.
Everyone really enjoyed it! So we're on the right track. I will
finish laying down the music tracks this week hopefully and then its on to
working on rotoscoping more and more light sabers (will it ever end?).
Played
an awesome storytelling game called "Primeval", where all the players
were heroes like Hercules or Beowulf and tried to best each others stories about
how certain feats were accomplished. Very creative and a lot of fun.
The game is in beta right now but will be bursting on the scene in around a year
or less. Check out the link
here.
Played
Cthulhu Live with Mac, Greg, Eamon and others.....total blast. Played two
scenarios, "Berlin Black" and "King of America". Very
very cool....even though I didn't survive the night in either game.
In "Berlin Black" I was dead, undead, dead again, undead, and finally
dead again.
Got some great networking done and even a couple of
assignments! But right now, its off to record some voice parts for the Star
Wars: Second Strike audio drama, and back to work on "Sith
Apocalypse".
