"Very, Very Bad
Things"
By: Deathstrike
Brownstone
and Moe Eskie stared slack jawed as the space/time vision shimmered and faded
before their minds' eyes.
The
MongoFuckingShitAssImmenseBattle for Twycross (as it would later be known) had
been an amazing sight to see...almost on the same level as the
GigantuanMegaFuckHugeOmniBattle for the Continuum had been (whew!).
"Damn
Moe! That was incredible!
Did you see the size of that huge black ship...WOAH!" Brownstone was
cut off by the temporal fluctuation sensors that had been installed after the
Greys had fucked with the past.
"Something
ain't right! I'm reading a massive temporal wave...it's cascading across the
entire Octom Fleet!"
"I
see it boss. Trying to get a
PastFix...looks like someone is affecting the Octom in the distant
past...perhaps an enemy who thinks that by influencing the Octom of the past
that-"
Moe
was cut off as the Temporal Cascade Effect Wave enveloped their flagship...the
Octom were no more...but in their place was something worse...
The
ships orbiting Twycross were so numerous now that they were almost 1 au in
diameter. Kirk was preparing to
beam more troops and weapons onto the Enterprise-D.
"Spock,
I know it'll be risky, but we've got to brave the Eclipse's firepower in order to drop off another contingent of
men...we need Picard and the D if we're to have any hope of getting out of the
rapidly degenerating mess..."
"It
appears to be getting worse, Admiral," Spock stated, and Kirk thought he
almost heard fear in the Vulcan's voice. "Reading
an unknown type of hyperspace jump/folding that is so immense that it is off the
scale..."
Spock
trailed off as billions upon billions of vessels appeared, eclipsing the sun and
stars, and even black space itself. Sunlight
and starlight began flickering in surreal motion as the exponentially increasing
gravity well of the fleet warped the very fabric of space, bending the light
waves/particles.
Spock
regained his composure a bit, and reported again. "Jim, those ships almost appear to have Borg subspace
signatures...but the vessel configuration is totally foreign for the Borg...and
there are far too many...
Spock
trailed off for the second time in half a minute when a booming voice erupted
from the comm speakers of every ship around Twycross.
"I
am Brownstone of Octorg. You will
be assimilated. Resistance is
futile."
"Awff....
how much worse can this get?" asked Kirk rhetorically.
A
hollow, metallic croaking sound basked the bridge as the first Borg Deep One
materialized on the ship. With its
hunched form and grotesquely aquatic features, the thing would look horrible
enough. With a prosthetic arm and
Borg implants jutting out of its bulky, misshapen head, the Deep One looked so
menacing that Uhura and even Chekov fainted.
"This
can't be happening..." was all Kirk could muster.
"Cthulhu
Fhtagn!" came the hoarse, metallic, harmonic reply.
Kirk's
mind was swimming...after what he'd just seen on the Enterprise-B, he was teetering on the edge of lunacy.
That message from the B must have been a warning from an alternate
timestream of the coming of the Octorg. A
fleet with the Octom's numbers, Borg technology, and the power of Cthulhu and
the Deep Ones behind it...
A
mental image of Cthulhu, bristling with Borg implants and gibbering metallically
in the bowels of an Octorg mothership tore through his mind.
Kirk fought back the urge to start crying, and instead vomited.
Now he knew why his double on the Enterprise-B
had clawed his own eyes out...
