"Intersection"

On a faraway planet, a shambling form made
its way across the surface of a barren world (see message bukufuck back).
He was trying vainly to remember who or what he was...as he looked down
upon his hideous body, he simply knew that it was not right.
He had once been something more...
The days became weeks, then months.
He scrounged and scavenged food and water, moving only by day.
He'd moved by night at the beginning, but once ran across a mutated
denizen like himself, but vastly more horrible and dangerous.
He'd barely escaped its snapping maws and dripping talons.
He moved only by day.
Dreams and visions came slowly back...he
could sense that he was on the verge of a revelation. Giant battles, strange alien creatures, robots, and a man's
face danced in fragments before his mind's eye. His tortured mind screamed for more, tried to claw at the veil
of blackness, but the visions still came agonizingly slowly.
Still, as the days passed the visions
became longer and more clear. He
knew he'd been part of a war...a series of battles with incredible and amazing
foes. And he knew so much...he had
been very intelligent. And strong.
Strong enough to crush alien monsters with his bare hands.
Hands...hands that were the size of shovels...
Then the revelation came! He knew who he had been...he knew who he was!
Hyuj. Someone had tried to
vanquish him and erase his memory to prevent others from learning the powerful
secrets of his box. He knew who he
had to help now. Hyuj began making
plans to escape the planet. He had to reach the one man who might have a chance of using
the Box to save the multiverse. That
man was...
James T.
Kirk braced himself in the captain's chair as the Enterprise accelerated around the corona of a Type-III star.
He hoped Spock's time-travel calculations were as accurate as usual.
The stars blurred, then joined in a
blinding flash of pure light and energy as the Enterprise
broke the time barrier. The feeling
was indescribable...even with all the times Kirk had traveled through time he
never got used to the nauseating feeling it produced. He could barely hear Spock trying to speak...
"...aptian, something....altering
the...alculations and trajecto...off course...unknown...fluctua...external
force...appears...."
But that was all Kirk made out before he
lost consciousness.
Kirk came to and hauled himself back into
the captain's chair. He keyed on
the main viewer, and allowed his eyes to focus...trying to get an initial
impression of where and when they were.
He saw a planet in the distance, perhaps a
few thousand miles distant. And
surrounding the planet...Kirk's jaw dropped.
Someone was having a big party.
He hadn't seen anything like this since the GigantuianMegaFuckHugeOmniBattle
for the Continuum. He was about
to ask the recovering Spock what his impression was when the comm switched on.
"Nice to see you again, Admiral
Kirk," came the familiar voice of Jean-Luc Picard.
"I'd love to update you about what's going on, but I'm afraid we're
as much in the dark as you are. In
the meantime, I'd recommend going to red alert."
Kirk was about to ask why when he saw the Vindicator. Then the shadow cast across it...then the Eclipse. And the
Imperial fleet.
"Rick Hunter and the SDF-3 are here
as well, but they've fled the scene...that huge black warship almost destroyed
it with one shot," Picard continued. Kirk
didn't need any more convincing.
"All hands to battle stations!"
