BACK TO THE FRONT

BY: GLADIATOR

Kirk's mind raced as he looked out the viewport of the shuttle.  What was it that Sulu found out there in deep space? How did he and his crew all have the same dreams, and just why did all his dreams seem so real lately?  The more he tried to fathom the answers, the more questions he came up with.  His Vulcan friend would surely have some insight.

He tried to clear his mind and focus on the terminal in front of him.

Starfleet was reinstating him, and giving his rank back.  His assistance was needed since he was considered the authority on space/time anomalies.  The vidlogs of Excelsior's communiqué with the Borg were more than docile.

Jim awoke with a sweat...  another dream of Sleestack and timetravel.  There must be a connection he thought.

He moved closer to the window and managed to crack a smile in the midst of the confusion on his mind.  The sleek bow the USS Enterprise 1701-A came into view and the shuttle came about and docked at the spaceport.

The shuttle door opened and there to greet him was Spock at full attention.

 “Welcome aboard Captain.”

Together they walked to the turbolift while Spock begin to brief him...
